ABOUT ME

My name is Amber, and I am a passionate UX designer with over 15 years of experience in the design industry. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Communication from Cardiff Metropolitan University, and I have worked with numerous design agencies in London where I was able to work on big brands. I am also proud to have been a core part of the team that helped take Responsible Life, a UK equity release company, to become one of the biggest in its sector.

My Approach

My passion lies in creating designs that not only look beautiful but also drive business growth and lead to true success. I love bringing elements of joy into everything I design, and I believe that passion, success, and enjoyment are all part of what makes a great designer. I'm always learning new skills and have become an expert in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma. I also know HTML and CSS and can comfortably build full websites. I know UX design, strategy, and research, and I'm great at UI design and building design frameworks.

My achievements extend beyond the design world. In 2016, I came out as transgender and founded Not Alone, a transgender and non-binary support group that has won multiple awards, including the Prime Minister's Point of Light Award in 2017. I was invited to join the Pride celebrations at 10 Downing Street that year. I've also played football at a professional level in England and used it as a platform to speak about transgender rights in sport.

And if that wasn't enough, I'm also a Shutterstock contributor, a Medium.com author, and a YouTube creator with over 2,000 subscribers. My YouTube content is educational and anecdotal about being transgender in the UK.
